Over 400 votes were tallied for A-TECH’s Got Talent, and we have a winner!

The first place winner is junior Donovan Brooks with his cover of the well-known song “Gary Come Home” from SpongeBob Squarepants. In second place is freshman Laura Sanchez and her soulful cover of “I Have Nothing” by Whitney Houston. Finally, in third place is senior Rami Hosny who skillfully played “Farruca” on the guitar.

“I was a little nervous, but not really,” said Brooks. “I kind of went in and sang the song as a joke. [My friend] Scott gave me the idea when he brought it up one day and I thought it was a good song.”

When questioned about whether she was nervous Sanchez said, “Yes, I was, but I got over it when I saw the crowd because I realized that’s what I wanted to do. I liked the song to begin with, I really connected with it, and Whitney Houston is just a good artist. It was special, I’m glad I [performed].”
