From April 6 to 16, students in world history class with Trevor Riley worked on the totalitarian regime pamphlet project.

Each group with two or three students was assigned a country, such as Germany, Japan, Italy, or Russia to research, specifically its totalitarian government before World War II. Students are required to explain the country’s totalitarian government, who founded it, who is the leader, historical information, the reason why their totalitarian government is the best, and other important information.

“[Students] are gathering information to understand how we can connect from World War I to World War II,” said Riley. “I want them to do this project so they can look at how the rise of totalitarian regimes lead us into World War II.”

When the research is done, students are going to present the project in the form of a pamphlet to the whole class.

“I did this with other classes at a different time, and they were pretty successful, so I want to reuse it again,” said Riley.

The overall project is worth 40 points and will go in the project/presentation section which would be 35% of the world history grade.

“It is interesting,” said sophomore Bryan Jorge. “I do like it.”

Overall, the project requires students’ research, artistic, and presentation skills, which students will need in their lifetime.
