Annoying Questions NOT To Ask Someone With Facial Piercings

Skyler Lange, Staff Writer

On February 28, 2017, Miraculously, I somehow convinced my mom to take me to get my nose pierced. After the deed was done I immediately began to receive compliments on my new bling, which of course I had no problem with.

Unfortunately:

  1. Did it hurt?
    1. I mean I only had a long, thick, surgical needle shoved through my nose! It didn’t hurt at all 🙂
  2. Can I touch it?
    1. Why would I want your dirty little hands prodding my face? No you cannot touch my jewelry
  3. Are you going to take it out?
    1. If you are asking if I’m going to take it out because you want me to, the answer is no.
  4. How long did it take?
    1. How ever long it will take you to stop asking me annoying questions.
  5. How long does it take to heal
    1. However long it takes for you to stop asking so many questions
  6. What are you going to do when you start applying for jobs?
    1. If necessary then of course I will take out my jewelry but if not then I fully intend to keep in my ring
  7. What does your family think?
    1. My nose is not the family nose! It is not some sacred artifact that cannot be tampered with! At the end of the day it is my face.
  8. You do know you just messed up your face right?
    1. Why are you so concerned with if I ruined my face or not? It is not your face and if you don’t like it then you shouldn’t look at it.

At the end of the day, the piercing is in my face, not yours. Please stop bombarding me, your friends, or strangers with annoying questions about why they made the choice to get a facial piercing.
