ATECH’s champion chess team meets on Mondays in room 704 to welcome novices and champions alike into the world of chess.
“Chess club is a place where students can learn the game of chess and play a game or two,” said Mr. Patterson.
This year chess club has plans to be bigger and better than before.
“This year we’re going to state tournament in April and we hope to do more outside tournaments as well” said Royce Pereira, club president.
“This year we have a chess coach which is an unusual thing and I would like him to be able to teach students how to better play chess,” said Mr. Patterson.
“The purpose of Chess club is to teach students chess and have them want to play for the rest of their lives” said Mr. Patterson.
Any students interested in learning chess or testing their skills should attend chess club meetings Mondays in room 704 from 2 to 4 pm.
