On Tuesday, November 13, 2018, all A-TECH juniors will take the ASVAB in the Student Activity Center from 7:25 AM to 10:30 AM.

“The ASVAB is a comprehensive career exploration program that explores career opportunities if you are thinking about going to college, technical school, vocational school or the military,” said secretary Rebecca Trees.

A score of 50 and above in the ASVAB will give juniors the opportunity to fulfill the new College and Career Ready Diploma implemented by the State this year.

“Many of our students did not make the cut scores in the ACT or SAT for the college ready endorsement for the College and Career Ready Diploma. Therefore, the ASVAB gives you another path to obtaining the College and Career Ready Diploma,” said Trees.

While some students feel confident about the ASVAB, some students are not prepared.

“I am not prepared for it , because I have test anxiety [and] I don’t have time,” said junior Catalina Luna.

Parents and students may contact the counseling office if they have any questions.
