A battle as old as time, candy corn is a treat that is usually consumed around Halloween. The three colors of white, orange, and yellow makes it a festive sweet that is widely enjoyed around the world.

Although there are some people who like this candy, there are others who think negatively about it. This candy has positive and negative aspects to it when it comes to some opinions.

“Disgusting, I hate it. I don’t know. It’s just like I starting hating it out of nowhere. I don’t know what happened. I liked it at first, but then it tasted bad,” said Sophomore Bobby Hailey.

Hailey describes candy corn as being disgusting, and there are others who think the same.

“It’s nasty. It tastes like if they modeled frosting together and formed a kernel thing. It’s too sweet and the texture is weird,” said Junior Gabby Morales.

When asked about what she would say to the people who enjoy candy corn, this was her response, “Are y’all on some type of medication?” A pretty harsh response.

Though many people dislike candy corn because of the texture and excessive amount of sugar, there are others who very much enjoy the candy.

Freshman Andrew Ponce said, “I really like it because it’s the OG, like it’s the original Halloween candy.”

When asked about what he would say to the haters of the candy, he responded with, “You guys have no taste.” We guess he really likes the candy.

Another student who likes candy corn is Freshman Gyani Hayes.

“Well candy corn is the best, because who doesn’t love candy corn. I mean it’s corn in candy form, like who doesn’t love it,” said Hayes.

When it comes to candy corn, it seems as people are split to whether they like it or not. Many people believe that candy corn is good because of the availability during the year. Others do not like it because of the texture and taste. Whether you like candy corn or not, there is one thing that is not arguable, candy corn will forever be the candy of Halloween.
