Business II students are preparing to end their Accounting unit by the end of October and they’re finishing it with a bang using the Forensic Accounting Project.

“The students play a role of an investigator to find fraud (deception used for personal or financial gains),” Business teacher Sherry Studhum explains.

The students will be applying  accounting skills throughout this project, particularly ones that deal with accounting statements, which are a collection of reports.

According to Stidhum, it also makes sure to teach students how “to protect the overall health of a business.”

The unit of accounting is one that teaches a variety of skills that can be applied practically anywhere in life. Accounting can be applied to most any future job and even personal life when dealing with budgeting for families, self and households.
